Assalamualaikum,

hello hi hi hey how are you? i need to make this one a real quickie cause I have three tests within the next 2 days and i havent really started studying yet.

for those who've known me since my sec school days or at least since my JC years, they'd prolly never think of me as being heavy (weight wise). and i, being skinny for practically my whole life, never ever EVER thought that i'd have to lose weight... at least not til after marriage. i never weighed more than 50 kg, 49 was the closest i'd ever gotten to that.

but omygawd. did i take my metabolism rate for granted or what?

after graduating from JC and never having a P.E lesson ever again, i began to (unconsciously) put on weight. A LOT of weight. and being used to the big appetite that i have which, before now i never had to pay attention to, i just kept on eating and eating and eating with no reservations whatsoever. a typical meal for me --> after eating a full plate of nasi ayam panggang from canteen A, i'd still have room for a bowl of bubur pulut hitam. then 2 hours later, id feel hungry again !!!

i never realised how much weight i put on till i went for the medical checkup for the Cambodia expedition. as usual, we had to take our height and weight. me, being the girl who never had to be conscious about her weight, nonchalantly stepped on the scale. imagine my HORROR and utter SHOCK when i saw the reading on the scale.

55 kg!

i was a fifty freaking five kilograms!

i was never even 50kg before this!

omg.

i nearly died.

so ive decided to start exercising again. to slim down my thunder thighs (im not kidding, theyre huge) and bring my metabolism rate and cholesterol to a healthier level (yes, i even have minor cholesterol issues, can you believe it?)

oh Allah. let me get my sexy back =) Ameen

***

ok enough depressing issues.

just felt like posting up some photos of my favourite things

1) i just collected my new spectacles from Joo Chiat complex just now. Khalis intro-ed me to the shop. seriously vintage feel to the place. some of the frames in the display case were rusting, im not joking. God, the specs there are freaking cheap. i decided to get myself the big-framed kind. you know the ones that alot of people are wearing, those geeky types. got mine for only $70, lens and all! cheap right!

i can't publish a photo of myself wearing it cause im not wearing tudung right now (im trying to stop posting photos of myself without tudung)... but ho ho ho, look at the notes under the specs. thats what im SUPPOSED to be reading but instead im blogging!

and here's my other favourite thing. my super sexy red netbook which i got months ago actually. totally addicted to it. my Spectrans know that I sleep with my netbook. im loving the fact that its red.

ahaha and guess who's on my desktop? who else but Mr Hotness himself ,G-Dragon!!! SAY CHEESE! i smile everytime i switch my netbook on.
yes, fangirl here. not hiding it.

and im gonna let you have a sneak peek into Big Bang's Big Show Concert CD that Asmah got me for my birthday. i love it, it's awesome!!!

the banjakk banjakk (twinkle twinkle in Korean) cover

what you get when you open up the cover. Big Bang JUMPS OUT AT YOU! love the pop out, makes the whole packaging more dynamic.

the picture booklet and CD

close up of the picture booklet

my favourite part of the booklet. familiar, anyone? =)

so those were a few of my favourite things!

okay seriously need to study.

will end off with one raya photo with the siblings. annyong!

Assalamualaikum,

ish. it's almost been a month since my previous update. seriously, im getting lazy. assignments are coming in and they're pretty time consuming. i had to spend 10 hours doing up my first assignment for publication design. and guess what? it's only worth like 5 pathetic marks. tsk tsk tsk

anyway, i know i said i'd lay off the korean music and shows during Ramadhan. i'm embarassed to say that i didn't really succeed in doing that. still addicted to my Family Outing, Big Bang and 2NE1 videos... i can't help it! BUT BUT BUT i HAVE abstained from starting on another Korean drama cause I know that if i start now, i'll spend the next 3 days crash-watching the series til my head spins like crazy. no time for that, NO TIME!!!

(p.s, i have successfully converted two of my friends into Big Bang fans =) , the rest of you... stop resisting! you can't fight it!!!)

many tests and mid-terms coming up after raya. im so dead. i have so many backlogged readings and i haven't really been revising cause i've been constantly stuck on Youtube.

again,

I AM SO DEAD

you guys should SO SO SO watch Family Outing. i think it's the best variety show ever created. i won't go into the promotions now (cheh promotions or what)... i'll do that another time cause i MUST start on my readings for tomorrow's lecture. BUT OH MY GOD YOU SHOULD SO WATCH FAMILY OUTING! you'll get addicted, seriously

i just wanted to post up some pictures. some recent, some overdue

beloved Spectrans together at Angkor WHUUUUT. miss them many many

at our last official meeting. of course, you can't deny our winning attitude =)

met up with my AQs a few weeks back. our lives have really brought us down different paths, but i hope we'll still remain fondly in each others' hearts. didn't manage to have our traditional iftar at Arnold's this year. and Fatin, where art thou? We haven't seen you in a long while

ah yes. PBMA a.k.a Persatuan Budak-budak Melayu Anderson. had an iftar with them a few weeks back. i'm really amazed at how we all remain close even after almost 4 years after graduating from Anderson. it's touching to see all of us putting in effort to keep the friendship alive with our occassional gatherings. Asnah would be so proud =) can't wait for another Anderson raya gathering. super organized i swear!

OKAY! i really really really need to start on my readings.

selamat berbuka everyone.

p.s it's sad that Ramadhan is ending. zoomed past way too fast. insyaAllah, i hope we all get to meet the next Ramadhan for more opportunities to get close to Him. Ameen.

Assalamualaikum,

we're halfway through the third week of the semester. the weeks have zoomed past if you ask me, and i've been pretty free all along. no assignments yet, not much homework either. and i have actually been keeping up with my readings and stuff. AMAZING! OH MY GAWD!

im really liking my modules this semester. not so much my core mods, but my electives are cool

Cores: Visual Communication
Communication History and Theories
Publication Design

Electives: French Level 2
Chinese Level 1
TV Practicum

woohoo. baik or what? i think its amazing that i get to do the things i like in school. going to school is like going to play (at least for now... wait til the workload starts to come in). i get to play with cameras, take videos and photos, present, learn more languages. im seriously happy this sem.

French is fun. It helps that my tutor is super nice AND hot =) i kinda struggled at the beginning cause I forgot everything i learnt in Level 1. such a blur cock in the first lesson, i swear. but im getting the hang of it. hope i can go all the way to Level 3, Izzah... aja aja fighting! =)

im amused by how surprised people get when they learn that im taking two language modules. is it really that weird? does no one else do it? is it really that tough?

Chinese level 1 has been oooookkkkkkaaaaayyyyyy la. im not that great at it. the 4 basic tones are confusing me LIKE CRAZY! and how am i supposed to remember all those characters?! and oh mo. my chinese handwriting is really atrocious. looks nothing like how it is supposed to look. but its okay. ill try it out... if i cant make it, theres always S/U option right? =) hehehehehe

i hope i do well this sem and push my GPA back up. insyaAllah

GD's solo album is out and im LOOOOVING IT! the whole concept of the album is really creative PLUUUSSSSS he looks so hot blonde. im totally inspired to bleach my hair now. HAHA! and its totally okay if it turns out weird cause i wear the tudung anyway.

haha i know i sound bimbotic. its okay. my brain is kinda dead now cause im actually not able to puasa but i cant eat either cause im in school and im scared ill get caught and a hungry Izzah is a very airheaded one.

Im just practicing my French here. Read and see if you understand. IT'S EASY! =) :

Je commence la classe a neuf heures et demie aujourd'hui. Je suis un peu en retard pour ma classe chinoise mais le professeur ne decu pas. J'aime beaucoup apprendre chinoise mais c'est difficile.

ok must go lecture. bye

Assalamualaikum,

i can't stop smiling to myself. i amuse myself at times when i reflect on how obsessed over Big Bang i must seem.

so yes, i guess i am verging on obsession.

most of the songs on my playlist are from Big Bang. and whenever i go online, ill watch videos of them on Youtube.

everyday, without fail.

astaghfirullah, i am wasting my life away. instead i should be zikir-ing or reading the Quran. ASTAGHFIRULLAH

no wonder Islam discourages us from listening to music. its to prevent things like these from happening!!!

so this is what being a fan feels like. now im enlightened.

i will cut down on Big Bang when Ramadhan comes around. MUST!!!!

but for now,

must introduce you people to their new Japanese album, Gara Gara Go

i uploaded their Gara Gara Go video a few entries back. so go listen! its a hot song.

also lovin' Emotion and Top Of The World.

if you're running out of songs, do give them a listen. you may like them! =)

kay. off to buka puasa!

Assalamualaikum,

lately, more and more people are beginning to call me a 'Korean Freak'

Me? Korean Freak? Really?

haha i seriously beg to differ.

if you wanna talk about music, i only listen to Big Bang (BIG BANG!!! *goes crazy*) and 2NE1... and perhaps abit of Rain and some others once in a while. im not really a fan of Wondergirls and SNSD etc etc etc (there are three etcs cause Korea has like a LOT and i mean A LOT of music groups)

and if you wanna talk about Korean dramas, the only ones I've ever watched are Boys Over Flowers and Full House. Just 2 dramas whaaaat? Freak meh? (although I admit, i can finish watching a whole season within 2 days)

its not the title 'Korean Freak' that irks me. its the way people use it in such a derogative way. is it wrong for me to be a fan of Korean artistes? Do i only have to listen to English songs?

Call me a Big Bang fan. Yes I am. But Im not a Korean Freak eh?

Listen to them before you judge, arasso?

P.S I'd like to give a special thanks to my dear Asmah who got me a Big Bang 'Big Show' Live Concert CD all the way from Korea for my birthday. I went crazy when i saw it.

Haha THAAAAANKKKKSSSSS ASSSSMMMMMMAAAAAAHHHHHH! *huge hug*

Assalamualaikum,

well i guess this entry is rather basi aka outdated but i didnt think itd be right if i didnt have at least a mini entry about my 20th birthday celebrations.

so id really like to take this chance to thank EVERYONE who remembered my special day

Firstly my beloved family and Mak Su who treated me to a really nice dinner at the new Eighteen Chefs restaurant. Battered chicken with Raspberry Sauce was delish.

Nadz and Faz, my BFFs always, although we dont hang out nearly as often as before, for a fun karaoke session. More whiny, heartbreakin songs in years ahead okay =)

To my Qizmets who i miss very much, thank you for your well wishes. Our super busy schedules didnt allow us to have crazy birthday parties like last year. Let's try our best to meet up and celebrate everyone's bday together one day?

To my AWETHOME Spectrans who know me so well, thank you SO MUCH for the River Island voucher and Big Bang birthday cake. i truly didnt expect it and i appreciate it so so much. you guys are great. saranghaeyo many many

and to EVERYONE else i didnt mention above who smsed me or msged me on Facebook, THANK YOU! Kamsamida really! i tried my best to thank every well wisher with a personal message so if you didnt get one, i do apologise cause i kinda lost track after awhile.

dont have any pictures for the celebrations cause they havent been uploaded. actually to be honest, by the time people upload them, ill lose the drive to put them on this LJ of mine. so yeah... dont think ill be having any picspam entries anytime soon,

alritos. good night

Assalamualaikum,

i'm finally back in Singapore after 18 days of pure bliss in Cambodia. alhamdulillah, im happy to be back with my family and gain daily access to the Internet again. but to be honest, i'd go back to Cambodia in a heartbeat given the chance.

i had the best time of my life in Cambodia. really, the expedition was a great success. we achieved our goals AND had amazing fun at the same time. but all that fun zoomed past too quickly... and now i'm left with only memories and photos.

i know that if i were to recount the 18 days in complete sentences, this entry would stretch so long, even I wouldn't wanna read it. so im gonna give you little, digestable bites yeah?

moments i hope to cherish forever:

* growing closer to all my Spectrans and discovering all their different quirks and habits. i grew especially close to Nashata and Nas =) i really hope this closeness lasts

* meeting the M'Lop Tapang kids and playing with them. our lack of Khmer vocab was a challenge at the start but all that faded with a smile and games. it's amazing how happy these kids are given their circumstance, and how open they are to you right from the initial meeting. they'll just come and sit beside you and lean on you, hold your hand and keep repeating your name.

NIIIZZAAHHH!

haha. my Spectrans would know the exact intonation to that.

i'll especially miss my ever loyal companion Srey Pech, who'd always come looking for me during her breaks and speak to me quickly in Khmer and just smile when she sees my confused face. i'll always remember how she'd pull my hand and bring me to an area to sit with her. she'd actually dust off the ground before letting me sit on it. SO SWEET KAN?! these kids are just incredibly sweet and adorable. how can you not fall in love with them and never want to leave?

and i'll remember my dear Kun who broke my heart. such a handsome little boy. so friendly and manja, with a bright face. he'd always come looking for me and hold my hand, made me feel like i was the closest to him out of all the team members. i grew so fond of him la. but after a few days, he began getting close to the other Spectrans and didnt come looking for me as much anymore. what saddened me the most was that he didnt really spend time with me on our last day in M'lop Tapang *sighs* i was lead on...

i'll always remember the other kids too, all of them special. like Denn, and Visna, and Chen Da .

and not forgetting the slum kids who held our hands and followed us all the way out of the slum area where they gave me kisses on the cheek as a goodbye. at first i was hesitant about letting them kiss me, looking at how dirty their living conditions were. but when i did bend down for a kiss, my heart just totally melted and i felt so so so touched. one by one they came to give me a peck. MashaAllah, thats when i felt so sad for these kids and fell in love with them even more.

(so much for writing a simple entry. let me talk about the kids and i start raving)

* it was great conquering the whole level 2 of the Greenworld Guesthouse. really felt like a dormitory. didnt need to lock our doors and could just pop by each others rooms as they wished. my room was nicknamed the "Drop-In Centre" cause our fridge was perpetually filled with food. people would really just drop by our room to get food. our staples --> Jacker chips, Cadbury chocolate, Jackfruit chips and Coke. mini kedai mama, serious.

* can't forget those really brief blackout moments where all the girls would come out of their rooms and start catwalking along the hallway. we'd blast music from the laptop and sashay and cheer and dance, then the lights would come on and spoil the fun. funny moments

* long and late nights with the team, members all curled up on the bed during Life Journey, struggling to keep awake. learnt lots of things about the Spectrans during those sessions.

* kept on eating Roty (it's abit like prata with milo and butter rolled into it). everyone in the team kept buying it sampai the Roty man grew too familiar with us. haha

* i opened a braiding shop in M'Lop Tapang. i started braiding Srey Pech's hair cause we ran out of games to play and i couldnt just talk to her. ah habes! after that, all the other girls started coming to me to braid their hair. it was a nice moment tho, playing with their hair. its a nice feeling making them happy.

* there is one M'Lop Tapang boy in the Advanced class who looks soooo much like my celebrity crush G-Dragon. omg. huge crush at first sight ok when i saw him. my group was conducting a class for the Advanced kids, and all through class i couldnt help but wanna stare at him. SO CUTE!

* our atrocious volleyball skills. i swear the guys at the Drop-In Centre got frustrated playing volleyball with us. we're really pretty lousy. but we had fun =) it was at the Drop In Centre that i met Kim Soon, the Cambo-Korean hottie. handsome or what. he even gave me volleyball playing tips. so happy he remembered my name hahahah

* had a brief R&R session during our stay at Snooky. went island hopping. unfortunately, i became terribly seasick on the boat. it was so bad i kept on vomitting til i had nothing left to throw out. my body just kept on hurling til my throat burned. urgh. hate getting motion sickness. horrible. but Nas took such great care of me, letting me sleep against her. i felt much better after that.

* nice time playing volleyball and swimming in the sea with the Spectrans at Bamboo island. as well as singing on the boat on the way back in an attempt to distract me from my seasickness.

* rode on the motorcycle again. this time i wasn't the pillion anymore, i was the rider. was our last night in Snooky so i didn't sleep and brought out the bike for a spin. late night riding on Snooky roads. the feeling was amazing. dream come true i tell you. i've wanted to ride a bike since forever. one of the best moments of the whole trip for me.

thats all i can remember for now. these do not include our days in Phnom Penh and Siem Reap. ill talk about that in my next entry. til then, take care lovelies

oh wait. before i go, i wanna post a video of my beloved Big Bang. theyre back from their hiatus, promoting their Japanese CD in Japan. new songs are bangin' as usual and i LOVE this video. enjoy! i missed them so

Assalamualaikum,

i may not come from a wealthy family, nor am i exceptionally goodlooking, nor am i extremely intelligent

but i am blessed.

i am blessed because of many things.

i am blessed because i was born into a family that strongly advocates positive thinking. my parents have never used harsh/vulgar words like 'bodoh' on my siblings and i, not once. this, to me, is significant because i know many other parents, especially Malay ones, who use this kind of words on their children. this is not to say that they've never scolded me (hah. i menjawab like crazy. serious punya anak kurangajar), but even when they do, they never use negative words. i think it is because of this that i grew up with a healthy self-esteem... all thanks to Mama and Abah =)

alhamdulillah

Allah SWT has been very good to me. constantly. i don't think i've ever met with a huge failure in all my 19 years in this world. He has pretty much given me almost everything I have ever asked for.

my PSLE grades
my admission into Anderson Sec
my O Level results
my admission into TPJC
being granted the MLEP scholarship
my A Level results
my admission into WKWSCI (which i had dreamed of since sec school)
my grades in Uni

...and yes i realise that they're all academic-centric...
=) geekess or WHAAAAAAT?

and of course, alhamdulillah for all the other small happy things in between.

i hope that Allah SWT will continue to grant me his Rahmah and guide me towards being a better Muslim. i know i have a long way to go, so i hope to never stop learning, insyaAllah

this doa goes out to you too, dear reader. Amin

ok annyong.

Assalamualaikum,

i've set a goal for myself. i'd like to be moderately fluent in at least 5 languages by the time i get my university degree.

it's a goal that i honestly feel is very attainable given my love for learning languages. i wouldn't say that i have a flair for languages, don't want to be sounding too boastful. but out of all the subjects i've ever taken in school, i excel in languages the most. and i pick up small words here and there from various languages pretty fast. since languages are my strength, then why not learn as many as i can?

besides, being able to switch between languages is pretty cool, ain't it? =)

languages i want to speak (in addition to English and Malay):

French --> hope to proceed with French Level 2 next semester and complete my study all the way to Level 3. Heard that it's tough but i think i can do it, InsyaAllah
Korean --> i've already picked up quite a number of words and phrases from listening to their songs and watching Boys Before Flowers. hope to start taking Korean in school too. HWAITING! =)
Mandarin --> Living in Singapore, being able to speak Mandarin really is a practical skill. Haven't really decided if i'll learn it in school or through friends. We'll see.

i think im very lucky to have Malay as my mother tongue. Being Malay, we're able to pronounce words rather well and tend to not have any/many "speech impediments" (save for the few people who can't pronounce R properly aka R karat), so it really helps when learning foreign languages. My French tutor said I pronouce French words well. WAH! SO MOTIVATED SEH AFTER HEARING HIM SAY THAT! haha. so i really hope to continue mastering more languages

k goodbye. jumpa lagi. salut. annyong. cai jian (k tk tahu spelling)

Assalamualaikum,

i am baaaaack people and the Pulau Perhentian trip with my Team Spectra was just downright AWE-THOME!!! (to be pronounced as if you have lisp, Zul style =D )

the trip had to be THE best holiday i've ever had and i can't think of a better group of people to share that experience with other than my beloved Spectrans. it's unfortunate that the trip was a really short one. would have loved more time on the islands. and i am so happy that i came home with a tan and not hangus skin. yay for sunblock. GOOD JOB SUNBLOCK! hahaha internal joke. tak pam tolong diam. my hair is all dry and fizzy from the seawater, i love it.

highlights from Perhentian:

1) watching Night at The Museum 2 with the team at City Square. boring movie, seriously. but loved watching it with the 20 members and laughing ridiculously loud at "AWE-THOME" cause it's an internal joke

2) getting to ride VIP class on the coach to Terengganu and having the whole bus to ourselves. sang campfire songs, played Taboo and had late night karaoke sessions. hip hop, jiwang, old school pop, korean, you name it... we sung it!

3) taking a speed boat to the Perhentian Islands. first time on a speed boat. wah, experience of a lifetime man.

4) one of my favourite moments of the whole trip was when we had to jump off the boat about 100m away from the shore and swim towards land. LIKE SURVIVOR OR WHAAAAT?! i can't swim for nuts, can't even tread water but i didn't hesitate for a single second when Fahmy told us to do that. haha i think i had too much adrenaline for my own good. almost died ah by the time i actually reached the shore, after not exercising for so long. ohhhh but the sense of accomplishment once my feet felt the sand was BEYOND AWE-THOME! the water there is SO CLEAR AND BLUE AND GREEN. what can i say, its just plain gorgeous, serious.

5) i loved the resort we stayed at. not cause the rooms were high in standard (they're not) but cause they always have snacks laid out in the dining area. THAT is especially valuable to people like me who have a perpetual need to put things into my mouth. high metabolism rate ah katakan, im constantly eating. i think i eat like a guy.... o.O

6) the resort is surrounded by jungle hence, the many creatures which fly, crawl, slither and roll all around us. the most disgusting ones that i simply cannot tahan were the geckos. the geckos ( something like our house lizards ) are HUGE. omg, the first time i saw the gecko, i kept exclaiming "OMG IT'S HUGE! SIAK AH BESARNYA! SHIT!" over and over again. from the corner of my eye, i could see the "bell boy" laughing at me. kurangasam. but seriously, the geckos are LONG AND FAT. they're approximately as long as my forearm and about 3 inches wide. imagine trying to sleep knowing that those kind of THINGS were crawling within the walls
*shivers*

7) we got to experience snorkelling. think it was the first for most of us. at the beginning, i kept breathing in through my nose which made me panic. luckily i had 'Azimah as my buddy. that girl is so patient with me, really. Girl, if you're reading this thanks loads! *hugs* once i got the breathing technique down, snorkelling was freakin fun through and through. we snorkelled for hours and took the boat from coast to coast. saw amazing multi-colored fishies, pretty corals, sea urchins and some in the team got excited when they saw "Nemo and Dory". haha. cute or whaaaat? loved it. can't wait to snorkel again in Cambodia

8) after snorkeling, the guides brought us to a freshwater source where we washed ourselves down and relaxed for awhile. ended up splashing each other. Spectrans can never stay quiet for long =) oh by the way, the young boat helper was daymn hot eh. tan and lean body, topless and all. hehehe. unfortunately, every time he looks at me, i'd be spitting out irritating seawater. talk about tak glam moments.

9) keropok lekor satay was the bomb. they should really sell those in Singapore pasar malams. confirm big hit

10) GOOD JOB CHEER, GOOD JOB CHEER, GOOD JOB CHEER! best cheer ever created

11) A&W dinner for our last meal in Kelantan. root beer float & waffles with ice-cream. yummeh!!!

12) KTM train ride back to Singapore in the sleeper coaches. LOOOOOVEEEED IT! has been too long since my previous train ride in those bunks. always something i looked forward to when i was younger. now that im older (and fatter), it's gotten more difficult for me to climb to the upper bunk. haha. had fun playing cards, Shoot Shag Marry and plain talking with some of the Spectrans til late. made a bit too much noise cause the nyonya on the lower bunk kept opening her drapes to stare at us and clearing her throat. threatening ah konon
*rolls eyes*

alhamduillah. Allah really has been good to me, enriching my life with these new experiences and allowing me to meet this wonderful group of people. i really am grateful to Him. im glad that im doing lots of things these hols rather than staying at home like alot of the other uni students. im really tired balancing work and the expedition but i always smile cause im enjoying myself.

pictures will be up once Jumaat sends them to us. aiite people, God Bless =)

Assalamualaikum,

i miss my GD baby...

no. i don't have a boyfriend, though i wouldn't mind at all if GD WAS to be my boyfriend =) NOT AT ALL! whodahey is GD, you may be wondering?

here's introducing you to my celebrity crush, G-Dragon, leader of my favourite group Big Bang. honestly, this picture doesn't do him justice. i think he's way hotter.

(i know that my readership will plunge if i keep blogging about Big Bang and anything related to that, but I DONT CARE!!! i like them too much)

facts about G-Dragon that make me respect him as a musician:

a) He started training to be a singer at YG entertainment (the label that produces Big Bang) since he was in Primary 6 (now he's 21)
b) He raps so freakin' well. I really enjoy listening to his voice, even if some of his rhymes are in Korean and I can't really understand
c) Total all rounder. Rap, sing, dance, compose songs, write lyrics, you name it!
d) He writes most of Big Bang's songs
e) Total fashionista. This guy is like a chameleon when it comes to dressing. He has appeared in magazines like Elle, Vogue and Arena and was even nominated for an award for being one of the most influential men in fashion.
f) Great leader. If you watch their Big Bang Real Documentary (their version of Making The Band), you'll see what I mean.
g) Starting to take on the role of becoming a professional producer. Currently he's working on producing 2NE1's first album, an up and coming girl band by YG.
h) Love his personality. Can't get enough

ahhh i miss him and the rest of Big Bang. right now they're taking a break so there aren't any new songs or interviews or TV appearances that i can watch. so im watching all their old videos again, which is getting pretty boring lah!

*sighs*
malaysia has been hit by the H1N1 virus. im so worried for Spectra and our expedition. im not sure if NTU will still allow us to go for our expedition. so far there hasn't been any communication from the SAO about that so im still praying to ALLAH swt that everything will turn out fine.

pray for us too ok. we'd like to go and help the children in Cambodia. i love that place

k back to my Big Bang.... (i should really start to ngaji instead of wasting my life away with songs ASTAGHFIRULLAH)

it doesn't matter whether you get to meet me often or can only get updates about me through this LJ, by now you should know which boyband im crazy about. no people, i don't think it's a phase. i really like Big Bang. and to think that a month ago, if you asked me to listen to Korean songs I would've scoffed at you.

i used to have this misconception that Korean songs were all either sappy or act cute. maybe cause most of the songs that people recommended to me were of that nature. and if you people know my music taste, i don't really go for ballads and bubblegum pop HENCE i never gave K-Pop a chance before this.

This exploration into K-Pop all began after my Cambodian trip. LOL. Of all places, I discovered K-Pop in Cambodia. We were in the guesthouse watching TV when Taegoon's Call Me came on. Addictive it was, so the tune stuck with me all the way back home to Singapore. So I searched for it on Youtube and listened to it, and it snowballed from there. Jumped from video to video and got all excited over DBSK. Liked them for awhile. And then Azie recommended Big Bang =)

To be honest, when I first searched for Big Bang on Youtube, what I saw didn't impress much. But thank goodness for the boredom that studying for exams brings, cause that was what pushed me to keep on watching Big Bang videos to keep myself awake. Watching their interviews and discovering more of their songs made me realize their talent.

More and more people are listening to Korean songs. So for those of you who haven't started, GET WITH THE PROGRAM. Their music industry is FREAKING HUGE. And they can make some pretty good beats.

If you're thinking of starting, then I strongly recommend you begin with Big Bang. The reason why I don't really recommend other bands like DBSK and SNSD (sorry Daps =) ) etc is cause I feel that their songs deviate away (more compared to Big Bang) from the mainstream American and UK songs that most of us are used to. So in order to ease you into K-Pop, I think it's be better to start with songs similar to the western ones, for now.

've listed a few Big Bang songs that I feel would be able to wet your appetite for more. DO GIVE THEM A LISTEN! LIKE SERIOUSLY! You're bound to like at least one!

1) Come Be My Lady
2) Number 1
3) Everything
4) Remember
5) A Good Man
6) Make Love
7) La La La
8) Last Farewell
9) With You
10) Big Boy
11) Shake It
12) Crazy Dog

got lah summore. But these are the ones that I keep listening to...

LISTEN OKAY!

Assalamualaikum,

i have a confession. i think im pretty obsessed over Big Bang. they are BY FAAAAAAAAR my most favourite artists EVER!

(Sorry Missy E, these guys beat you hands down)

i think i can safely say that i have never really been a fan of anything. sure i like this artiste, listen to some bands alot and admire some other prominent people, but i have NEVER felt so giggly and happy just thinking about them.

BUT OH MA! i get all excited watching these boys, be it on stage or in variety shows or in their home videos, i just keep on watching and watching and i don't stop for hours. i've watched almost all the videos of them on Youtube, excluding those without subtitles cause I hate it when they laugh but I don't know what they're saying. even when i was supposed to be revising for my exams (which by the way ARE OVEEEEERRRR!), i kept on watching video recordings of their radio shows which dragged on for hours.

trust me, i do freak myself out sometimes.

but looking at some videos of their fans, i think i am NOWHERE near that fanatic. seriously, some of them girls look psychotic. really... really really.

why do I like Big Bang so much? WAHAHAHAHAAH i could give you SO MANY REASONS!
I think it's because all the members of the band hold their own as artists. Every single member has his own strength and appeal, and all of them have successful solo careers without neglecting the group. When it comes to musical groups like this, the usual case is that there'll be one prominent frontman while the other members just kinda fade into the background. But that's not the case at all for Big Bang, and i think it's what makes me like them so much.

Usually, i'd just be happy with listening to an artist's song and not thinking more about it. But for the first time in my life, I'm a fan who actually wants to meet Big Bang.

phase or not? We'll see. Meanwhile, I hope you enjoy the music =) peace

Assalamualaikum,

i get very excited when i discover new bands or start liking new genres of music. recently, ive grown a particular liking for Korean songs, more specifically songs from the boyband TVXQ/DBSK (yeah whichever). the songs are surprisingly good. and the guys are delightfully hot. never thought i'd fall for those sepet eyes. I would recommend:

Mirotic
Wrong Number
Purple Line

cool ass dance sequences in all those music videos, albeit ive seen very similar moves in so many other choreographies before.

AND AND AND i just discovered another band a few minutes ago. not sure if you guys have heard of them, but if you haven't then do put them on your playlist pronto cause they make shit ass (damn nice i like) crazy beats.

N.A.S.A (you better recognize)

do give these tracks a listen. if your music preference is by any means even remotely similar to mine, im sure you'll like them =) PROMISE

i LOVE party tunes

Assalamualaikum,

EARTH HOUR in Singapore was rather disappointing, at least in the city. I was expecting a gorgeous scene of lights going off on the Singapore skyline, building by building. Even thought that the shopping centres would close early just to participate in the event (which i realise now may have been a rather naive expectation but hey! there was so much hype about this, i really expected people to go all out for it).

BUT WHAT A LET DOWN!

It's like 8.30 came and went and nothing happened. The city was still bright and bustling. Only shops like Starbucks, Body Shop and Krumpler shut down for the hour. Seemed like nobody else acknowledged it.

Sad. So sad

Assalamualaikum,

God has been good to me. I have all the things I could ask for, and I'm grateful

=)

had Day 2 of the short film shoot on Sunday. It was only Dahliah and I this time. Oh my god. You can't imagine the amount of work that has to be put into a mere 3 minute short film. Everytime the crew wanted to change the camera angle, they had to adjust the lighting and sound all over again (which trust me could take a whole 15 mins). It didnt help that the equipment ran out of battery real fast and that the natural lighting from the window shifted as the hours went on.

Had to take off and put on my tudung over and over again during the shoot cause they wanted to film the process of putting on the tudung. 'Twas the most times I put on and took off my in a day. Just doing that was rather tiring. I had to concentrate on my acting AND taking care of a restless Dahliah. budak kecik ni ehhh... susah!

Now I understand why movies take years to be produced. But despite all that, the whole process still fascinates me.

Didn't manage to capture any pictures of Day 2. Here are some other peektures from Day 1 of the shoot at Sultan Mosque

Jessica, Day 1 Director with Dahliah and I

Shuhada and Dayana, supposed to be bee-yotchy schoolgirls drowning in JC uniforms

Myself and Dahliah "demurely" waiting at the Mosque

Jeanette, Day 2 Director and Anna, Camerawoman

Kahei, the super friendly Soundwoman.

(there was another crew member Jasmine but there aren't any photos of her. anyway Jasmine if you're reading this, Thanks =) )

Thanks J3AK Productions for the opportunity =) had fun la walao

wee. can't wait for the final film

out.

Assalamualaikum,

im sucha lazy ass. i keep skipping my lessons. ive already skipped a lecture and tutorial today. when i actually could have made it to school on time. shit.

skipped a tutorial yesterday so that i could act for a short film project. was soooo excited. but more nervous than excited.

thanks Hanna! *hugs* you helped make my Uni sem 2 that much more interesting =)

so can i deem yesterday's filming as my debut as a film actress?

HAHAHA! dream on eh Izzah

i was cast as a Muslim Girl who mentors my younger cousin (played by afro-girl Dahliah) into wearing the tudung. so there we were in various parts of crowded Bugis acting. me in my black jubah / abayah and Dahliah in her Indonesian tudung, scratching and fidgeting away. that girl is so cute.

here are some peektures (courtesy of Anna)

Dayana and Shuhada acting as the Schoolgirls

never have i been so aroused by electronic equipment.

yesterday's film shoot just totally reinforced my desire to specialize in EBM (electronic broadcast media)

Singaporeans are so kepo. They'll just stand there at the side to watch us act. Even when we're NOT acting they'll stand near the crew and peer in to see what we're doing. Quite irritating ah after a while.

i'll see if i can get a copy of the final film. if my acting okay then i show you, k?

haha k bye
